I posted on the thread below how my delivery just came to a crawl but in Netflix defense I read the return address of my latest selection and saw it had a St. Louis return address. I live in Tampa and Netflix has a distribution center here. I've become used to a 48 hrs turn around. I think it might be due to the fact that I ordered a Fassbinder film and the inventory of "those" films must be limited. Maybe some of you have had a similar experience.
Follow Ups:
That class action suit didn't mean crap to them. My service has been horrible for eight or nine months. BUT, because I generally watch subtitles, not new releases, I'm screwed. My quickest turnaround comes out of Atlanta but I get them from California a lot. They have one sophisticated software system to accomplish this. In fact, a lot of my return envelope addresses are my own hometown! Apparently somebody here is capturing the bar code and bulk shipping them back to the shipping center nearest here (Atlanta).
Imagine - the Sideways turned out not to be what the reviews led him to believe! My deliveries has always been on the loger side, but that was explained to me - due to my location, and as price still was right I stayed with them.
My problem with them is not delivery, it is their inventory, which we depleated rather quickly. But then we still manage a few reasonable films a month, and for $18 that is still a good deal.
I think I might dig into that Iranian section, after all...
a bit later in the day, confirmation of mailing, with next day delivery. Of course, I luck out by having the center 40 miles or so away from my house.
I had one movie which took longer and that must have been for a reason similar to yours.
based on their false claim of "nextday delivery". I get one free month of Netflix with three movies option. I'll take it!
