This film was so effective that I had to turn it off.For one thing, silly young woman like the ones in this film surrounds me, and it gave me a headache, and heartache.
Steve Buscemi was wonderful in this. I very much appreciate his acting, but like I said, I had to turn it off after the hateful outbursts, one after another (from the teenagers).
I have a feeling the film got better after toward the end.
I love how records/Lp's were part of the movie.
I think I'll have to be in a better place in my mind before trying this one again. After all, I'm separated depressed and emotionally unstable. Parts of this film hit me hard, and it was a constant flow heart hits, with continual arrogant rudeness, which was too much for me at this time.
So, I tossed in the new Batman DVD
Which lifted my spirits a little.Regards

Apparently it did in you. I don't recall the rudeness, but I didn't watch it in any stressful situation either. But there are three good performances in it.
Yes, I agree and the choice of actors couldn’t be better in a film like this. Great performances! And quite possibly effective in striking a cord in the best of human conditions.
