  A book, every time. For me, even the best film doesn't come close to good writing. If I have 90 minutes to watch a movie, then I've got that same time to read.

          And by the way, the name's Shirley (which I like to imagine would be the standard response from baritone John Shirley-Quirk). The forcing in the original poster's question is the key. If my free will is in play, I might indeed watch "Striptease" instead of reading "Ulysses," just for the nostalgia.

  with limited time to read (kids, work, etc), it isn't easy findind time to read all the books I'd like to so I watch movies. Lately a lot of foreign ones as the tripe coming out of Hollywood is getting hard to take.
