This had to be the best episode all year and one of the best in recent memory from a series that has served up the best comedy, IMHO, over the last 5 years. One could argue Arrested Development for a couple of years, but I digress. Uhh, if yer interest, spoilers, a few at least, follow; If you've been keeping up with the series, Larry has had doubts about whether he was adopted or not. In the finale his private eye tells him the name and location of his real birth parents, the Cones. The way the dick pronounces it, it sounds like Cohen. As it turns out, they're Gentiles and Larry soon finds Jesus and relishes his Gentileness and accepts Christain teachings, which leads to a late life epiphany. He returns from WASPDOMANIA a changed man, all the better for Lewis, who desperately needs a kidney transplant. Of course, in typical Larry David fashion, EVERYTHING goes awry. The last bedside words were hilarious, a brief, but eventful trip to Heaven, was fall out of the chair funny. As was most of the episode.
An all out excellent conclusion to a mediocre season. FAR better than last season's el lame-o finale. I know this ain't 30 minute sitcom asylum, but dammit, I just had to share.

Follow Ups:
Serious Rome withdrawal.
I laughed out loud at least 6 times. Playing golf with Ben hogan? Priceless. Dustin Hoffman was funny to have as one of his guides. I'm a big fan of the show, I'm not so sure that a casual fan would be so enthusiastic about that episode of enthusiasm.
My favorites were the deathbed flashbacks,
and his goodbyes.Susie, "Larry"
Larry, "Nahhhh"I'll watch this one again and again

Sorry about the thread crap, though; hope someone can give you a helpful response on your query. I try to keep up with Rome on HBO; that's about all.
I just wonder how it will play next year with Ceasar dead.Other worthy series are The Wire, Deadwood and the Sopranos. Can't wait.

...which, as you may know, won't probably air til 2007. You've got the struggle for power between Marc Antony and Octavius, the love affair bewteen Antony and Cleopatra, Brutus' death, Ocatvius becoming Ceasar Augustus...great stuff! I want the DVDs with extras NOW!
But nobody understand it. ( I mean what should be funny about it...)
There's an HBO program called "Asylum" which you may be unfamiliar with in Europe; I'll give you the benefit of doubt. The various forums here are all named Asylum. Add to that the fact that there have been periodic discussions on various boards about Audio Asylum's expansion and increased bandwidth usage, and how many are too many Asylums to keep up with and moderate, so MY first impression upon seeing an "HBO Asylum" is "wha-! Another one?"NOW do you get it?
Over the years we had to explain to you so many jokes (always been a struggle!) that if you had to return Patrick a small favor, for once explaining a deep American culture-based one, that would one be fair.
... one of these, and I'd prefer to use it from some distance away! ;^D
Closet?
Darling!
...and I have better access to the handle Outside. ;^)
In that closet of yours...
BTW do you know who was first on movie screen to show a water closet?
Manque d´humour mais pas d´humeur....

I'm not familiar with it, new series? Or brain fart (me)

It's apparently a documentary; I've just caught brief ads for it on HBO and thought it was a new series. You be the judge (link below):
I think she would protest/I've heard of the documentary.
Tho not a documentary, their fact based production, Sometimes in April, was the equal (in many areas at least) of Hotel Rwanda. You would love the political discussions that went on in the state dept. as to whether it was in our national interest to intervene.
