What is the world coming to?I saw small part of some piece of shit on some movie channel last night and saw these two guys there.
What's up, Michael? You used to be one serious actor. Now you have to play in that kind of trash?
Anyway, it was some lame cliche-driven flick about the Sudio 54, I believe. Can't tell you more, I turned it off.
BTW, if you don't know who Ron Jeremy is, don't bother checking his "filmography", head straight to that section of your video store where no one unde 18 is permitted. Look for the subtle titles like.... well, perhaps some other time.
Follow Ups:
If you hate Ron Jeremy, watch him get shotgun blasted as the bank manager in "Killing Zoe".
York recently made a film called "A Dirty Little Business" (a.k.a. "Merchants of Venus"--yeah, I know,I can think of a better third word), a comedy about the porno business. It's been "released" in Europe, but not in the U.S.We could play "Six Degrees of Ron Jeremy" with connections like this.
You think MY is a better actor than RJ?? And if he is, York is as boring in any role now as he was 30 yrs. ago., even if he's reduced to doing comedy cameos now. Most overrated actor.
Of course, that was 33 years ago, so perhaps you are only talking about the last 30 :-)No, I don't find him boring, insightful yes.
No, I haven't. But I feel pretty safe in saying that even if this film is a OK, 99% of his other input is nothing more than 'sleepy time down south'. Hence the string(more like a thick rope) of B movies he made. Every time I see him in some film I ask myself what the casting director was thinking of. MY and Malcolm McDowell are two Brits that had high hopes and turned up to be empties. Ever ask yourself why both of them were in so many really bad films? Perhaps they are bad actors? Valid or not?
I wouldn't call MY a serious actor. At least Ron Jeremy can safely say that he really(!!!) enjoyed making movies.
...but I have to admit that as I went back into Malcolm's filmography, the only other noteworthy performance was that in O Lucky Man, soooo long ago. That out of over 100 movies that he made (not that I have seen most of them)!Perhaps just another case of Kibrick being able to take a mediocre actor (O'Neil, McDowell) and produce a spectacular results. To bad his last one failed in that respect - but we already spent too much time on that one.
One thing for sure, I would rather watch York than many others, his sophisticated British flavor carrying him through. At the very least, he is not offensive.
As far as Ron Jeremy enjoying himself - not sure. As far as I understand that idustry, making these films is not about pleasure, it is about tight schedules, budgets, and doing *it* on a que. Last thing the producers worry about is what the stars feel.
Did you know that Ron Jeremy had a cameo in John Frankenheimer's Ronin? He played, appropriately, a fishmonger!
There is always something new to learn. When was that scene?
As for Michael Yorke, he's played "Random Exposition" in both Austin Powers movies and may have been dragged into "54" by Mike Myers.Porno film director Gregory Dark has directed several of the music videos for current top teen acts.
You see, the cream rises to the top! I'm waiting for "The Hedgehog" to replace Dennis Miller as commentator on Monday Night Football.
***As for Michael Yorke, he's played "Random Exposition" in both Austin Powers movies...that I have not seen these movies. I have only seen bits and pieces that are normally used at the shows.
Colors are good... some girls look nice too.
What was Michael doing there?
...then "Random Exposition (York)" is Austin Powers' boss. He's there to tell Austin what he's up against, and to get his mother beaten up by a confused Austin ("she's a MAN, baby!").
I have just discovered that Liz Hurley only played in the first one.Oh, the endless power of Internet learning!
While you might be hard-pressed to rank them in -- let me put this delicately -- "appeal," I think you would agree that Ms. Hurley (in the first AP movie) is, by far, the better actor than Ms. Graham (in the second one). You can always catch Graham in "Bowfinger" for a slightly better performance.
RBB --
"Q-tips (tm) work great!"
...I have not seen either, till very recently I was not even aware there were two films.I have only caught few seconds, if that much, of Liz, so to answer this properly I would have to conduct a detailed study.
Was there something wrong with the Graham girl? Shorts not skinny enough?

"Q-tips (tm) work great!"
...this one was mosly swarming with worms and cockroaches. Michael's was perhaps the only intelligent face there.***Porno film director Gregory Dark has directed several of the music videos for current top teen acts.
Acts? Did you say "acts"? Well, whatever...
Perhaps I should not even aks who The Hedgehog is. Is that someone Anita Hill would know about?
Gregory Dark directed Britney Spear's videos. "Britney, you've got three minutes to get me hot. After that, I'm taking a nap."Ron Jeremy = "The Hedgehog" (the physical resemblance is so startling that his chromosomes are being counted at USC). He is well-known by his nickname in the San Fernando Valley, where his prolific "output" is probably responsible for 5% of the tax base in the region.
I nominate Something for Everyone.
