Anyone else a fan?Watched the first season on DVD (15 episodes!) and for the most part, enjoyed it. I especially liked Caine's "flashbacks" to his Grasshopper days. On the other hand, we're not talking sophisticated drama, and the stock villian characters get tired rather fast. However, Caine is kind of cool.
Follow Ups:
I was a fan as well at the time; but since the part was originally supposed to star Bruce Lee, in hindsight, I am disappointed with the series. The series represents the time, however, such as it was.
Oh, yes... being born in Jan 68, we never missed a single episode.I always wondered about him walking through the desert to the west. I loved the opening sequence with the music before each episode that gave his story.
It was also interesting to be in areas here in gold country where there were many Chinese workers. One place of mosquito ridge road where there was a dam built by the Chinese. Its now only in pieces after it had been blown up.
At any rate, I would often flash back to the Kung Fu TV series and think of Caine, the humble man from the east, with the scorching tattoos.
Would like to check out this set your talking about.
According to Amazon.com, the box set is called "Kung Fu - The Complete First Season (1972)".
