This was my second viewing of this dream-like, surreal work, intentionally, even if somewhat naively, reminiscent of early Soviet films - immediately brings back the memories of Dovzhenko and his contemporaries. An allegory set in modern times has depth not often encountered, and cinematography that is grabbing and immensely expressive. Some of those black and white images are like powerful sculptures, and will be imprinted in your memory - trust me!
One can't describe a film like this, it simply must be seen. But make sure you put yourself in the right mood, and don't have interruption. The stew is thick, and undoubtedly not to everyone's taste, but if you find yourself able to submerge in it, you will be richly awarded... at least so I think.
