My favorite Bertolucci film. Seen it three or four times in theatres. Too bad it hasn't been released on DVD.
Unfortunately I don't get TCM from my cable provider. They used to have it available to subscribers but now you have to pay a premium to get it. I now pay more and get less selection from my monopoly cable provider Adelphia. My Netflix subscription is a far better value.

Jean Luis Trintignant is magnificent as the listless bureaucrat and Dominique Sanda... well, words are inadequate to describe her.
This movie is fascinating and, like most great ones, bears re-viewing throught one's life.
