...and big time. What an idiot. It is always sad to see the monument toppled, but it is better now than later. To think that I loved that miserable fool! Seeing him kiss Clinton's ass on stage was incredibly degrading and he is out, out, out. I promise to never watch another moview with him.
So OK, the jerk is out, but who is IN?
More surprise. Bo is IN! Enough to say that I shall be watching much more Bo Derek movies from now on! How's that for a swap.
She is such a nice actress, deep and psychological, insightful and multi-faceted that her every movie is a treasure.
So, for now here is the mandatory viewing for the next four years:
Frozen with Fear
Horror
Murder at the Cannes Film Festival
"Queen of Swords"
"Wind on Water"
"Hollywood Squares"
Tarzan: The Legacy of Edgar Rice Burroughs
Interviewee, film Jane and director
Tommy Boy
Shattered Image
Sognando la California
Woman of Desire hmmmm, that one sounds interesting....
Hot Chocolate
Ghosts Can't Do It
Bolero
Fantasies
Tarzan, the Ape Man
A Change of Seasons

OrcaThank you, Bo, it was really nice to see you that torturous night, and be cool, baby, we are gonna win! Some day!
Follow Ups:
it's too bad that you let your political bias take over to judge an actor like DeNiro. I dont know of anyone who has as many good films as DeNiro. Even in not so good movies, he's still convincing. I like his loyalty to stand up for Kazan at the academy award. I'm afraid you might be left with Arnold and Moses.
***it's too bad that you let your political bias take over to judge an actor like DeNiro. I dont know of anyone who has as many good films as DeNiro. No, that would not be too nice. But here is how I see it.
I don't think one can completely disassociate the actor from his views - much like it is hard to do this with friends. But then it becomes a question of an overall balance. I have friends with whom I would never talk politics - for I would jump at their throats in no time at all. I love them on balance.
So, the balance... tought issue. Why in this case De Niro and not, say, Susan Sarandon, who too is extremely liberal?
What is wrong with admitting this is highly emotional? That for some personal reason Robert had failed to compensate for his behavior?
Now, take Susan. I know what she stands for and she does send my blood boiling. But I have to tell you, I was in some shithole hotel few days ago, and as I was getting ready to leave, I turned on TV and there was "Earthly Possessions"... it only took a second for me to drop everything I was doing and to get completely under her spell...
Her power was simply too much for me to handle. I wanted to despise her, but it was hopeless. I had to pry myself away from the screen - it was time to go. She was simply incredible in that simple role.
Perhaps Robert failed to pierce this barrier for me. But Susan did.
So, now in addition to Arnold and "Moses" we have another tallented lady,....... and man, do I hate what she stands for!
So, no, I am not afraid to find myself in an empty room with no screen - there are scores of good actors I still can count on.
BTW, have you seen the architectural drawings by Adolf Hitler? They are pretty good...
Bravo! Even though I just watched "Ronin" twice on videotape, somehow
images of Bo kept creeping in. She's one of the most underrated
actresses of all time. Since reading your post the negative images of Robert
were counterbalanced by the positive ones of Bo. Wow, now that's a
testament to the power of association! - AH
At about 3am? Hint, hint...
Sorry... That message number is not valid.
...you will invite us over for that one, right?Given this year's gridlocked election process, I'm looking forward to hearing about the Schwarzenegger/Shriver Family Thanksgiving. Could be a real barn burner.
Sure, it's slow around here. But there are better ways to liven things up and draw attention to yourself.
And Bo is much easier on the eyes than De Niro :)

***And Bo is much easier on the eyes than De NiroI have to agree with you on this one. Funny how the external events shape our perception.
I shall also revisit her husband's filmography.
Too bad about Robert, but there are plenty of actors who also behave like normal people.
