Viewed this one for the first time last night, after hearing much about it in the past. Suffice it to say, that was one of the most nightmarish films I have ever seen---the effect of having the characters stare into the camera was probably more disturbing than any of the actual violence.
Follow Ups:
so he behaved like he's genuinely traumatised; that's what the Director wanted
Nightmarish is too polite a word; but that's how the campaign was fought The attention to detail with weaponry, uniforms and vehicles is exemplary in Come and SeeIf I can recommend Mein Kreig, a documentary covering the German side; interviews with old soldiers who were in the East, interspersed with footage shot on hand-held movie cameras ( much of which is on color ) by the same men
That's every bit as much an eye-opener as Come and See, + I won't add any spoilersJust Thank God we weren't there ( in any capacity )
Grins
I will have to see that one.And yes, thank God for that, no doubt.
