Might the bear have been attracted to the smell of blood? There were two people and one was a woman.

At any tate, I've only saw bits and pieces of the film from the recent showings on tv. And caught the part where the pilot described first seing the bear eating at a rib cage. Strange. There were some strange details.

I'll just have to rent the dvd and watch it from the beginning to the end.
