quality of the film, which deserves to be flushed. I don't know what Walter Selles, the very good Brasilian director was doing here but I hope he at least got a good paycheck.
Jennifer Connely continues to underwhelm. When you spend an entire movie with no greater desire than to see an actresses' blouse become unfastened (and, even there, I was disappointed) you know you're in film hell.
Sometime soon I'll see the Japanese original. Why oh why did I see a remake? Is there ONE example of Hollywood improving anything? Or even making a watchable effort in a remake?
Follow Ups:
I thought the original was rather boring so I didn't see the remake.
Hollywood is going to remake Butch Cassidy with Matt Damon & I don't even want to remember who else.

Have you seen every film produced in Asia to come up with some ratio of good to bad films?
Yep, there are a lot of great films coming out of some Asian countries, but remember, the scholck is filtered out for release here, you only see the best few films from each country. You are exposed to the gamut of films made in America, which increases the SNR of good films.
an example of a fine modern american film....
