Based on a true story, this film stars Laura Linney as an attorney defending a priest in the seath of a young woman supposedly possesed by demons. The D>A. contends that the preist relied on exorcism at the expense of standard medical treatm sinc ethethe vistim actually had epilepsy ands was psychotic. There are some scary sequences involving flashbacks in the victim's life. Linney is pretty good in this. I'd cive it a B=.
Follow Ups:
They got unpleasant. Speaking of which, I saw a medeival torture dungeon once. Compared to hollywood movies it was disappointing. For example, the iron maiden only had 2 or 3 spikes insteas of the dozens you'd see in a film. But if they closed the door on you it would get the job done. Before the Exorcist, excorism had pretty much been thrown into the ashbin of history, where it belonged.
