Mel Gibson stars in this Revolutionary War story of a reluctant widower participant in the war due to his guilt over atrocities he particpated in in the French and Indian Wars. After a son is killed and another captured and his house burned by the British, Gibson seeks revenge against a sadistci British officer responsible for Gibson's trouble. With two younger sons Gibson wipes out 21 Britich soldiers and rescues the captured son. He then forms a militia and because of his sneaky guerilla tactics becomes known as "The Ghost". His speciallty in attacks is to kill all the British officers first. he is aided by an officer in the regular Continental Army, a friend played by Chris Cooper. A young Heath Ledger plays one of Gibson's sons. The whole movie is basically a two man war between Gibson and the sadistic British officer, played by Jason Issacs. Naturally they meet face to face in battle at the end. Along the way one of Gibson's sons woos and marries a young lass and Gibson himself is attracted to the sister of his deceased wife. Basically an action picture that just happens to be set in the Revolutionary War.

They should have apologized to Britain. Disgusting.
The icing on the cake lines "it's a free country, or it soon will be" has to be the most out of place pile of caca I've seen on screen. The use of children to "raise the emotional stakes" was noted by another critic and to which I agree. The Brits are evil - American never owned slaves, and the dirty work -- well the French do that. This is one of the worst films in the history of cinema.

I saw that but didn't single frame it.
One after another...
The worst shit ever. A real stinker. And the digital pictures.
I didn't think my review was all that favorable so there's nothing to be sorry about.
