And his last months on earth.
He came from the tradional right and choose to make a political carrier to the left.
He was someone near to the " Prince " Machiavel outstanding political statment.
His past in the last war was somewhat not very clear, but Le Grand Charles never really denounced it.
He was the last great ( if you like him or not ) president France and with the mondialisation and Europe the time of men of his character is for now over.
He was incredibly cultivate. And as living French man clich� he loved women.
Well he got cancer, the kind old men gets.
He ask a young man ( Jewish...) to write a book about him and a kind of freindship started between the two.
That is the film. And beyond the help being French, it is a universal story full of humanism,
AND oudtandly played.
The critics were not very good. They were wrong. And how.
A marvel of a good film.
See it.

  Old story. Alain Delon body guard Markovich has been killed, he accused the actor and his wife, Nathalie.
  It was rumored that Claude Pompidou the wife of the former president was involved in sex parties. Letters ( false ? ) has been intercepted...
  Alain Delon was bi-sexual...
  Nobody ever gonna get the truth of of this story, at least not any time now....
  No film as far I knows. More still a taboo...

    Maybe a stroy of Yugoslavian mafia - They were all small time crooks at that time. Stefan Markovich supposedly had sex with Claude, but also secretly made photos (?) and later black-mailed Delon, who in turn asked Marcantoni for "help".
    At one time I attempted to buy right for the book "Gorilla", to make a movie about it. But the author asked too much money for me at the time. It would be a good story though.

      Was this book about Alain Delon?
      Who wrote it? Le Gorille was the nick name of Lino Ventura who played a lot of films with AD too.
      Claude, is still in the middle of Parisian mondanity BTW.
      Like Roosewelt wife who was a famous lesbian....

        It was a Yugoslavian journalist, but I think it was a novel abot Stefan and Alain Delon and whole event in 1968. Author died some years ago, and I think book got translated (badly) in German.

        Mickey Rooney also asked his "frends" to get rid of his wife's Barbara lover Milos Milosevic. What you will find is that "Milos then killed Barbara Rooney, and than commited suicide"...LOL! That was in 1966, and you know who paid for transport of embalbed Milos body to his mother? Delon himself.
