An Asian "Alfie" goes in search of his parent's identity, which takes him to the Phillipines, and is surprised.
Wong's films are hard to describe because ostensibly not much happens but the seductive rhythm, beauty of the images and score, and naturalness of the actors weaves a trance from which the viewer wakens, overwhelmed and confused.
