...and a right-on, old-fashioned Disney flick like the sort I grew up with. Hope it makes a mint.The lead actors were astonishing -- and the supporting humans weren't too shoddy either. The main guy, Paul Walker, truly looks like the kind of guy who would be doing what the guy in the movie does. The main lady is nowhere near a bombshell and looks like *she'd* be doing, etc.
There are choke-up moments, there are (somewhat strained, this is Disney) laughing moments, there is celebration, there is non-digital action, and most of the dialog is natural. There are no children, unbearably cute ot otherwise.
It's a perfect afternoon entertainment, for kids and grown-ups both.

...and I agree it is "perfectly enjoyable family matinee movie".The only problem I had was how healthy the dogs all looked after surviving a long antarctic winter.
