..Gin gwai (The Eye) by the Danny & Oxide (Oxide?!)Pang follows in the tradition of The Grudge, Dark Water & other ghosty asiatic creepies. Reminiscent in parts of Nicholas Roaeg's masterly Don't Look Now.
Very well edited, original shots & good accompanying score make this a must if you like that sort of thing.
Personally, these asiatic horror films all seem somehow empty plot-wise, despite 'horror-in-the-ordinary'
A ghost is a ghost is a ghost?
Follow Ups:
I've seen The Eye and several others from different origins and they all seem the same. Last night I watched Nightmare (Korea) and it was a Sixth Sense with a big dash of The Ring. Have you noticed that many of the so-called "ghosts" are a young woman with head down and hair in front of her face? Same with Nightmare! (There must be some significance beyond ripping off The Ring series.)

Nice movie, good atmosphere, but not a particularly scarey though. Its kind of a better version of "The Sixth Sense". Angelica Lee made a likable sympathetic character. Cute too.

..I do like the way the atmospherics push the 'anything ordinary can scare'.
And yes, she was cute - good range of expression, also.
