I preferred the beginning of the movie because it was thoughtful and thought the ending was patched together. Frankly I think the movie should have been longer to explain things more thoroughly. I have never read the book and I enjoyed the movie until, all of a sudden it seems, they were in this big battle. I understood the reason they went to war but did not care because the development was too brief.
