He wasn't confined, he was lazy, spoiled, arrogant, and fearful of anything outside his domain. He wouldn't get out of bed or off the couch and was quite content to sleep rather than relate to the world. He was a very annoying character to say the least.

I have not seen that one, only heard friends tear it to shreds, but perhaps should take a look. Onegin, though, is such an important literature work that I think the warrants a view - after all it was filmes on location, and WHAT location! Of course putting the whole work into 106 minutes sounds like a murder...Anyway, thanks for reminding me... I put it in the queue, and even moved it to the top - I can imagine my wife's surprise when it shows up! But hey, man has to take a stand once in his lifetime!
