Stanley Kramer produced and directed this taut look at the later Nuremberg triels, these involving German judges. There are a number of "A" list stars, among them Spencer tracy, Burt lancaster, Richard Widmark, Marelne Dietrich, Judy Garland, Maximillian Schell, Montgomery Clift, and William Shatner. The story alternates between tha actual trail, at wich Tracy is part of the sitting tribunal, and Tracy's attempts to get to know the German citizenry. The camera work (black and white wide screen) is stunning, with many moving closeups in the courtroom. All in all, a very moving film, one that one can return to again and again.

Curiously it is one of the very few film on this subject that always had me bored.
Trough I admire the text and the will and...the actor, Spencer Tracy, maybe the greatest of all US movies actor.
There used to be I dunno, something like 20 minutes of the Nazi marches after the credits stopped rolling, on the VHS. Are they still there on the DVD?
I have it on laserdisc and stopped it during the credits so I don't know if the marches are there.
To me that music at the end made the whole experience far, far stronger.
The laserdisc contains the marches under the label "Exit Music". There is also a theatrical trailer.
