I was knocked out as well by this film. Have been a Clare Danes fan ever since discovering her in 'Brokedown Palace'. She rose to new heights in 'shopgirl' and has talent to burn. I think it was unjustly ignored because it lacked the formulaic violence-sex-action overload that the moviegoing masses have been conditioned to. So much of the 'action' was interior and went over a lot of peoples' heads (critics included). Martin always astounds me with his ability to never repeat himself.
