  Funny you mention "Deep Throat", when I was writing to rico's "Cinema Paradiso" post above, I was thinking of the cinema in Cambridge town centre- it was on the market square like the one in "CP" and I saw many of the movies that were the most influential for me there. I felt I grew up cinematically in that place. I was thinking especially of "Death in Venice", "The Phantom of Liberty", and very memorable- "Deep Throat", which was the first artistic, erotic movie I'd seen.

    I really dunno... the only tape of it I ever saw was on that 1" reel-to-reel Sony VTR that I bought surplus, together with a bunch of tapes.

    On one tape there was what appeared to be the twentieth generation copy, allowing you to spot the major organs, but I am afraid at that stage all artistism already left! :-)
