The MJQ's John Lewis wrote the music for this caper film set in Mahhattan and upstate New York. Embittered ex-cop Ed Begley hires reluctant and racist Robert Ryan and equally reluctant gambler in debt Sydney Poitier to rob a bank in a small New York town. The story takes a while to get off ther ground and strangely the heavily played racism of Ryna is not the cause of the folied robbery attempt. All in all a so so effort, bettered by Kubrick's "The Killing" and Huston's "The Asphalt Jungle".
