This film won an Oscar for best sound and the DVD does it full justice. Based on Farley Mowat's memoir, it tells the story of the author (played here by Charles Martin Smith) and his Canadian Government assignment to spend a year in the Canadian north studying arctic wolves, then thought to be decimating the caribou population. He is assisted by local Natives, who later do something underhanded to the wolves. Brian Dennehy has a small but marvelous part as a bush pilot. A wonderful and instructive family film from Walt Disney Pictures.
