A good film, but a big time mis-casting of Meg Ryan as the pilot IMO.
Follow Ups:
I did not have a problem with Meg here -- unfortunately when a big star has so many hits doing one thing it's practically impossible for audiences who have seen all her prior stuff to not see past it. Her performance though was solid but it's hard not seeing Meg Ryan -- sometimes it hurts to have the looks she has and reign in the bubbly.Julia Roberts is a lot better actress than she is given credit for but she too suffers from the "ohh that's Julia" problem.
Still with the money these ladies make it's tough to feel too sorry for them.
Interestingly the big star beauty actress who seems to be able to get away from this a bit is Jennifer Aniston -- but her with a machine gun might be a stretch.
Also the last movie role in which she looked attractive. If she wanted to shed the glamour image, she's succeeded. She must've had her lips done by BF Goodrich.
Well, Meg is constantly trying to break out of her "cutesy" roles, sometimes successfully ("Proof of Life") sometimes not ("In The Cut"). I thoufght she was OK in "Courage...".
