Not one of his best, but I could enjoy Altman, even if it's below his usual standards ( Short Cuts -The Long Goodbye - McCabe and Mrs Miller). Short Cuts had some nice moments - I thought the vignette involving the baker was poignant and Lemon's performance was powerful.

For me, Altmans films always have a sense of detachment and objectivity that keep me from being drawn in emotionally unless it is warranted intellectually first. No suicide contemplating here!
