  Well I enjoyed it.
  It is too long. at 2 1/2 hours, a good 30 minutes could be edited probably from the fight scenes which are extremely long and somewhat silly.
  But then again it isn't exactly a serious movie.
  The complaints about inaccuracies from some of the islanders concerning cannibalism in the film seem a mite off target in a film where the main baddie has a squid for a head....
  The effects are very good (speaking as someone who couldn't care less for most fx movies).
  The script is lttered with double entendres especially for ms Knightly who never seems to open her mouth without saying something about "banging" every one is sight.
  There is a strange repetition of rolling things... no clues in caes you go and see it... but I heard an audience laughing out lous and greatly enjoying it... a few numb bums apart!
  Go and see it. Let it wash over you.
  Its a hoot... a very expensive hoot, but tremendous fun nevertheless.

  it was exactly what I expected. A series of expensive and predictable gags contrived to fit into a very uninteresting story.

  Like the Raiders sequel, much too dark, gross, bombastic & silly. An overly long setup for the 3rd film, lacking the humor & charm of Curse of the Black Pearl.

    My guess is that there's enough decent stuff to have made this 2 parter into one reasonably entertaining (and obviously, much tighter) movie.
