It wasn't "Good Vs. Evil", it was Light Vs. Darkness. One of the points of the movie, was that those working for Light weren't all "good", and had the same flaws normal people had, ie. the main charactor was an asshole, while those working for Darkness weren't all bad either. They did sort of rewrite the Vampire Mythos for the movie. Want to make another Vampire? You had better fill out the proper paperwork and get aproval first. Overall, I thought it was interesting, but not great.
The sequel is a bit more coherent.
