Does anybody remember "The Sandpiper" Starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. Filmed in Big Sur, it portrays a boy and his free-spirited, unwed mother (Taylor) living an idyllic lifestyle in Big Sur?If so would you like to comment about it?
Thank you!
I'll be headed to Big Sur Friday!
Follow Ups:
Starting with "Cleopatra" her films got progressively worse. The Sandpiper is entertaining but nothing special. The best thing about it is the cinematography, which is generally highly regarded.
The only really good films starring Liz and Dick are "Cleopatra" and "Taming of the Shrew." Neither is a classic but both are very entertaining.
On my 1 to 10 scale, GIANT is a 10, CLEOPATRA is a 7, TAMING OF THE SHREW is a 7, and The Sandpiper is a 6 1/2.
Don't ask about "BOOM", also starring Liz and Dick. A bloody awful movie and only a 3 on my scale.
you forgot this movie, their best movie together and a great first movie from MIKE NICHOLS> S rhu
sorry about the spelling. rhu
I believe that the champion elevator Muzak tune, "The Shadow of Your Smile" is the most memorable thing from that film.
