I bought this because of a recent post here and I watched it last night. Blake Edwards directed and produced this tale of a bank teller (Lee Remick) threatened by a killer (Ross Martin) who wants her to steal $100,000 from her employer. Early on she contacts FBI agent Glenn Ford, who tries to unravel what is going on. Martin then kidnaps Remick's younger sister to make sure Remick does steal the cash. I found the editing in the last third of the film particularly well executed. Henry Mancini contributed a fine jazz tinged score. A good one.
Follow Ups:
and starred a very young and already vastly talented Albert Finney.
The Richard Montgomery "original" is available but not this later version. If ever you get a chance, grab it. Another superb film of the time is "The Collector" starring Terrence Stamp.
Stamp, Hemmings (David, the star of "Blow-up"), and Finney were the "new wave" stars of the British cinema. Of the three, only Finney continued on a long career "on top."
Pity. Stamp and Hemmings were his equal.
I particularly enjoyed him in "Far From the Madding Crowd". Did you know he is in "Star Wars Episode I"?
