On the Commericial for Castaway they are playing the theme

from Braveheart. WHat is up with that? Anyone else notice it? Do they play it in the movie also?

The Stargate theme is used ALL the time.

...that trailers are made by specialty firms, not by studios themselves. Weird, huh?

...I think the trailers get made before the soundtrack is finalized so you will actually hear this pretty often. The Green Mile trailer used the theme from another movie as well - The Shawshank Redemption theme I do believe...
It might have helped if they had played it though. This interminably dull movie in which commercialism has been take to crass new levels needs all the help it can get.

  The theater trailers for the new movie Pearl Harbor are using the music from A Thin Red Line... but i guess this is ok since Hans Zimmer is doing the music (can't steal from yourself...)

    Many times they don't have the music finished. I was reading about some eary pre-screenings where they quickly mix the music off another film with a similar theme and tone! Now music can have a HUGE impact on whether a film is enjoyed or not!
