...this was the writers' first time out in the new format and as it was not known whether the program would succeed, the first 24 was plotted out only halfway. After its astonishing success came the annual renewals, along with tighter lines.That said, everyone agrees on the following:
1) The daughter Kim should be made to die in a most gruesome fashion, and soon.
2) The third year was rather weak.
3) The fourth year was the best so far -- Imagine! They *dare* to use Islamic terrorists! How... politically incorrect! The nerve! The protests! The Unreality!... Those people don't do that sort of thing...
And a couple of very moving memories: In the #4 two Arab brothers who run a sporting goods store find themselves taken over by the terrorists. And in #5 a very young, very frightened submariner (previously unknown to us, just a sailer at his station) receives instructions from Jack over the cellphone -- on how to approach a man from behind, grab him and slit his throat. Stunning moments, both.

...when something momentous happens to any of them, you understand the significance -- but only if you've not been skipping chapters. Plus you would miss such delights as the machinations of the President's wife Sherry, the fierce ongoing loyalties of two men in the Presidential staff, and Chloe's coming out of her shell. (Mary Ryskind is a breakout actress.)If however you're only in it for the thrill, be my guest.

Ahhh. I haven't been there in about a week. One nice perk at this job is that I have the benefits of being a full time employee but only have to be at work when I'm on a project. I'll stop in today.
