I liked the some of the performances in The Family Stone (Parker, Nelson), but in the end, I felt that the story was predictable. I am not sure I agree with Ebert that Junebug is similar. Both begin with the same framework, a son bringing home his significant other to meet the familty, but the similarities end there. I think that Junebug developes the theme, whereas Family Stone uses it simply as a launching pad for some funny moments. I agree with the other posters -Junebug is the better film.
