The real Frank Abagnale served as a technical adviser to this film about his exploits and actually requested changes to maintain strict authenticity. As a young man Abagnale started forging chrcks using an ingenious system and he also posed as an airline pilot and doctor, among other poses. He is chased throughout the film by mild mannered FBI Agent Carl Hanratty, played by last minute substitute Tom Hanks, whose Boston accent just doesn't cut it. John Williams contributes an unusual score (unusual for him, that is).Humor and outrageousness abound in this deliciaous romp. Recommended.
Follow Ups:
Fine performances by DiCaprio and Christopher Walken, and I agree with you about Williams' score-a real head turning change of pace from his usual large scale symphonic fare.

Very fun film. He imitating a teacher, then Walken escorting him from the principal's office smiling, had me in stitches.
