While thoroughly enjoying the film we were suddenly treated to the payoff a bit early when that reel started - one reel too soon - playing backwards and upsidedown.
They then had to finish the film by spooling the next proper reel, showing it, taking a 10 minute break, spooling the next one, showing it, breaking, etc.
Everyone got a free ticket but that hardly makes up for not getting to experience it organically (alhtough in a strange way it fit with the movie).
I've known and worked (on music and commercial projects) with the directors for years and am very happy for them. They've been trying to make a feature for a long time and they scored with this one.

  ...there aren't many films lately that have anything original. But it all depends on execution which is what makes this one interesting and entertaining.
  Second, that's a direct quote from Entertainment Weekly's review.
  The same publication this week gave " The Descent", the horror film, an A-, making it one of the few finest films of the year, in their opinion.

  they're also unique and each one is brought to life by an excellent performance (the gruff, embarrassing grandfather isn't unique but the heroin snorting one played bt Alan Arkin is).
  There are definitely things to pick at if one is so inclined but it has heart and humor and actors committed to their roles.
