Films made from a child's perspective are always tricky and this is no different.
There are moments where the girl engages in a child's idea of romance... hugging and a little kissing with a grown man... a man both epileptic and who has been lobotomised.
Its a difficult scene(s) but it works purely because its done from HER point of view.
Having thought about the Days Of Heaven parallel over night, I think there may be even more similarities between the two, but to list them would involve pretty much spilling the beans on the plotlines and I don't think that helps anyone.
Rent it, see it... you might even agree with me on it.
