  How about keeping the original ending? It was shown to test audiences that complained the ending (similar to the orginal's ending) was too depressing. They immediately went back and redid the ending.
  I haven't seen it yet, but will. LOVE the original.

  Someguy, doing a class project, discovers "frequencies that never existed before" (go figure). This opens a portal to the "dead" that began to come via wifi, cell phone, tv, and take the lifeforce of all the living.

  Nice cameo by Brad Douriff (Cuckoo's).
