Was wondering if it was as "scary" as Alien . . . .
Follow Ups:
Agreed with other comments below. Horror is not one of my preferred genres, but I saw it because 1) there was NOTHING ELSE on at the movies that weekend (too often the case); and 2) it got decent reviews. It was much better than average horror movies, but of course, you had to suspend judgment. How many women do you know who can hang from the cave ceiling with one hand and place a camming unit in a crack with the other hand?
Maybe Steph Davis and a few others . . .

...I saw it last Sunday with my 16 year old daughter who is a big fan of the horror genre. Her comment - "Scarriest movie ever!"
I thought it was well done - excellent work in tight spots without much lighting - above average for the genre. "B-"
The only similarity between "Descent" and "Alien" was that our heroes were played by women. After a moment of character development and some claustrophobia - "Descent" turned into a gross fest where thumbs pushed in eyeballs, characters drowned in blood pools while necks were cracked and skulls were broken.
The only real scares were digital shrieks that rivaled NYC subway trains.
..but one of the better small budget horror films.
Some nice twists (the only guy in the movie gets offed in the first few minutes). Well worth catching.
