I ran across this on TV in the wee hours during a bout with insomnia. Public defender Cher is defending a war damageed psycholgical mute (Liam Neeson) in a murder trial. Joe Montegna is the procescutor. Risking her career, Cher hooks up with jury member Dennis Quaid to solve the crime, and the mounting evidence points very close to the trial itself. I found it surprisingly good.
Follow Ups:
1979's Breaking Away, The Dresser -with outstanding performances by both Albert Finney and Tom Courtenay and Suspect (which I liked) but then again I'm a Cher fan...
Also "Bullitt, probably his best.

It may have been the time od day (wee hours) but I found the film enjoyable.
