One could complain about the clumsy English subtitles and a print that is not quite pristine. But it is still a highly entertaining and gorgeous film to watch.

Dare I watch it again? But thanks for the tip; I had previously only found it available for the French and Japanese markets.
There aren't any graphic disembowelments in "Goyokin."
I don't recall it being a suicide scene. I remember one of the characters following a trail of blood across the snow, coming to a house with crows perched atop, and while searching through the house, coming across a disemboweled body. Besides, my folks never would've taken us kids to see a movie called "Harakiri"! I think they were expecting a milder Samurai drama like the original Zatoichi.
