Woody Allen is at his best here in this hilarious tale of a man (Woody) seeking the birth mother of his adopted don. Mira Sorvino won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her portrayal of a porn actress and prostitute who turns out to be the boy's mother. As Woody becomes her coach to a more virtuous life his wife begins a tentative affair with another man. Various entanglements ensue along the way and there are many very funny lines. A Greek chorus comments on tha action throughout and toward the end breaks into a couple of song andance routines ( a harbinger of Woody's musical, "Everyone says I Love You").
