Is it both widescreen, and 4:3 like the broadcasts? If widescreen only, were the top and bottom of the 4:3 chopped to get it that way? Is it anamorphic? Call all your friends! I need to know!clark
Follow Ups:
It's widescreen anamorphic.
Is it *only* that? (I can't play anamorphic...) And how was the extra area obtained?clark
Yes, it is only 16.9 enhanced. I assume it was originally shot widescreen (for future HDTV syndication?)and panned/scanned/cropped for the TV shows. Here is a link which may be useful if you cannot change the aspect ratio from your DVD- but you may need the service manual for your set.
