Hi,
my wife, and friends loved this movie. I don't know what to make it of it. But i think you should give it a chance. The Coen Bros. have definitely given an old tale a new (and quite thorough) twist. Music's good. Something the younger guys might miss, who is that lookin like Clark Gable?
Follow Ups:
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was fun to pick out the (many) references and allusions. My wife summed it up thusly:
"Great movie, but not one to recommend to everyone....some people just wouldn't get it."
"Refreshing. An entertaining adult movie that was provocative but with without gratuitious violence, sex or bad language."
Picked up the soundtrack. Interesting in that my local music emporium was out of stock- turned out it was the second time they had sold out...
Best,
Ross
Even Homer may have enjoyed that trick.
Tempted to go see it again, something I rarely do. Still haven't seen "Chocolat" though, so that'll probably be next.
Best film from the Coens since Fargo and the music was swell.
