This was released around 1966/67.
I believe it was filmed in California.A man driving home to his family, from (what I believe to be) a business trip.
I seem to recall it was a holiday occation. He was being tormented up and down the road by a group of (four?) guy's, in a 1958-1962 vintage Corvette.
At the end of the film, the man waits for them on a long stretch of highway, and faces them head-on in a game of chicken.
Anyway, the vette veres off the road & crashes into a ditch.
The dazed guy's crawl out of the overturned vette, to find the older man angrily standing over them with a tire iron in his hand, demanding them to get out of the car.Any help on ID would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!

The movie you're refering to is "It's a Wonderful Life". The scene with the 'Vette usually gets cut in order to fit in more xmas commercials.

I believe the film you are referring to is "Hot Rods to Hell" from 1967. It starred two respected actors in the twilight of their careers: Dana Andrews and Jeanne Crain. Also in the cast is Mimsy Farmer, Laurie Mock (very cute!), Paul Bertoya, and Gene Kirkwood.
I hope this is the film you saw.
