While there is much to consider in this production in the end the core of this movie and the core of my problem with it is Copalla seems to be a one trick poney at the end of the day. I think she watched all of Altman's films and failed to see the forrest for the trees. She tries to use the same elements Altman uses but fails to make them come together to form whole that is greater than it's parts. That is the beauty of Altman at his best and the failure of Copalla in both of her efforts. Too bad, a friend of mine has a pretty good part in Marrie Antoinette.

    Actually, analysis aside, this was a visual confection made from sugar-free ingredients. It just didn't deliver outside of the visual prettiness. I think most everyone did his best but it wasn't much of a script just an apology for MA, herself.
