Out this week here in Toulouse, Guillermo del Toro's new one which has picked up rave reviews everywhere (check out Rotten Tomatoes).
I just love this director and it looks like he's outdone himself this time.
Will report back.
Follow Ups:
I loved the Devil's Backbone and expect Pan's Labrynth may be even better.
I've seen several previews of this. It looks amazing.
Jack
Well, it was, Jack.
It was beautiful, haunting, violent, inspired.
It went to the essence of what a 'fairy story' should be.
It buried Narnia, Lord of the Rings.
The cast was impeccably woven, totally involving and the sets were amazing.
I think a film like this comes along once in a decade, touching deep.
I understand why it received a standing ovation at Cannes and, with this the second film using the Spanish Civil War as a setting (The Devil's Backbone)for del Torro's fantastic worlds, there's hope for a continuation.
If he uses his earned Hollywood dollars to come up with personal films like this, we can only rejoice.
A wonderful film.
I loved Devil's Backbone, and have been looking forward to this for quite a while now.

That's been the buzz online. Its nice to know that it lives up to the hype.
Jack
I thought it was much better than Devil's Backbone, much more complete, coherent, even though the latter was very good.
All the makings of a classic.
