Watched "Wages..." last night and was totally moved, shocked and entertained *again*.A beautifully shot B&W film that brings me on the edge of seat, sometime not even breathing!
The acting is first-rate from the smallest role to the largest. A real masterpiece."Sorcerer" is now in my queue which I haven't seen - I can't imagine any remake capturing the magic "Wages .." does - But Friedkin is no slouch and he likes to venture into darkness.
Follow Ups:
I own "Sorcerer" and have seen it a number of times. Yes, of course, you are right, it cannot possibly be in the same league as WOF but ut does have a number of its own charms. Among them is the director's choice to preamble the main story by showing how each of the men got there to partcipate in the mission and these episodes are interesting and very well done. That's all i'll say without spoiling for you other differences from the original story the director has chosen (they are slight). Enjoy.
thanks nt
