... when he steadfastly refuses to share his own first hand impressions (in fairness, there are a few exceptions where Clark has reviewed movies here, and I've commended him on those). However, when Clark posts a bunch of negative reviews, especially dropping in one by Duncan Shepherd, red flags usually pop-up leading one to conclude that Clark probably hasn't watched the movie in question but wants to churn the waters of discontent for those who a) are thinking of going or b) have seen and like the film. Note: It's amusing watching Clark tap dance around the first-hand review issue, probably funnier than Borat, but don't take my word for it.Personally, I've avoided Borat because the trailers left me cold; the impression of it being imbued with both phony chartacters and the often uncomfortable exploitive reality TV sensitivity. Also, I'm dubious of being told that this is the greatest comedy in years; that said, I'm not negatively reviewing the film, but rather the trailer for the film. I won't judge the film itself or attempt to dissuade anyone from seeing it. This could be a great movie. In fact, a large consensus of reviewers are raving about it, so maybe they know something that Clark and I have missed by not seeing the film. OTOH, who knows what Duncan Shepherd of the Grey Poupon vinigerette crowd saw in his theater between sampling a bad vintage of wine and getting a bad tray of escargo. ;^)
