... and has met Ellroy a few times, I have to say that this confused piece of... film-making is the worst of the 3 films made from his books. It is 3 isn't it?
I'm not blaming the actors here, I really can't see what kind of film De Palma was trying to make. Whatever it was, he failed.
The only surprise is that it was released.
